In 1994, Italian researchers found that Yohimbine has a positive improvement in sex drive and sexual stimulation on men with psychogenic impotence3.

Fifty percent of the patients were given daily doses of 15 mg of Yohimbine along with Trazodone, an antidepressant. The other half of the subjects were on a placebo. This study lasted over an 8-week period or approximately 2 months.

At the end of the study, 71% of the group on Yohimbine have increased their libido, erection quality, and ejaculation. On the other hand, the placebo group only has 22% of the participants with positive results.

Then, for another 8 weeks, the researchers gave Yohimbine tablets to the placebo group. Amazingly, Yohimbine maintained consistent results with 74% of the subjects have positive results.

During follow-ups in a 3 and 6 months period, 58 out of the 63 patients have consistent results4.

Another study by French researchers5 in London was on a mission to determine whether Yohimbe sexual health benefits are true. So, they set up a double-blind trial with Yohimbine as a treatment for an erectile problem on men aged between 18 to 70.

These men were seeking help due to their problem of inadequate erection for 6 months or longer. They are the subjects in this study in order to determine the effectiveness of Yohimbe in improving erection quality.

All male patients have no serious psychiatric disorder, liver problems, and hypertension.

During the course of the study, half of the subjects were given 5.4mg of Yohimbine while the other half was on placebo for 8 weeks.

The researchers do a follow up every 4 weeks. And, after 8 weeks of the study, 37% of the participants in the Yohimbine group have improved their erections. On the other hand, only 13% experienced an improvement in the placebo group.
