Although it seems weird and uncommon, many men have a curved penis, and it can occur at any age bracket as well as most occur in Caucasian men.
Penile curvature is also known as Peyronies Disease(Induratio Penis Plastica or Chronic Inflammation of the Tunica Albuginea, CITA), which characterized as the presence of scars or fibrous plaques at the Tunica Albuginea of the penis.
The angulations can range from anywhere between a 10 to 45-degree angle. In a certain situation, curvature angulation is severe as J-shape.
Among the causes leading to a curved penis are accidental injuries of the penis that is not treated properly.
For some men, it has been with them since the beginning of puberty while others have it since birth. The curved state of the penis may cause difficulty and painful sexual intercourse for both partners.
Vital Facts About Peyronie’s Disease or Curved Penis
Treating or correcting penile curvature is tricky. As explained in the video above, there are certain ways or means it can be addressed, and surgery can be the last resort to undergo to correct the deformity.
Hence, when opting for a surgical procedure, be certain it is done by a professional who is an expert in the field as it is a bad idea leaving it untreated either, ideally.
After all, the goal is to reassure a permanent correction for penile curvature and enjoy active comfortable sex for the rest of the lifetime.
The technological advancements over the past decade enabled scientists to create or develop a male penis device that can aid treat Peyronies Disease and reduce the angulation of the curve, if not straighten it back perfectly.
Recently, the majority of the top penis extenders used traction techniques are originally designed for the sole purpose of reducing penile curvatures and most of them are certified and classified as Medical Type 1 devices. If you’ve watched the video, traction devices have been mentioned at 5:55(you might want to skip to that time in the video).
In addition, a penile implant or prosthesis was also mentioned somewhere at the 9:11 timeline.
Clinical Study Conducted On Penile Curvatures
Wendy Hurn, a urology specialist practitioner at Bristol Royal Infirmary conducted research on Treatment of Penile Retraction In Evolutive Peyronie’s Disease with External Penis-Stretching reached a conclusion that penis extenders using traction such as the SizeGenetics, Penimaster, and Phallosan Forte are the perfect alternative to surgery to straighten curved penises.
Data shows that penis-stretching is effective in Peyronie’s disease treatment, especially at the point of severe penile retraction.
The study was based on 22 men ages between 18 and 78 years of age suffering from Peyronies disease.
The subjects were divided into 2 groups. Men who have 12.5 cm or less stretched penis were put on one group while men who have over 12.5cm of the stretched penis were on another group.
The men in each group were given instructions to put on a penis extender. The extender had to be worn 5 hours daily on average for a span of 3 months.
At the end of the treatment, Hurn recorded: an average 0.8-2.3cm increase in penis length increases and a 20 percent reduction of penile curvatures.
Moreover, there was another clinical study entitled “Can An External Penis Stretcher Reduce Peyronie’s Penile Curvature” published in 2009 by the International Journal of Impotence Research.

Success With Traction Device
This study was conducted on 8 participants in their 50’s; who are instructed to wear the penis stretcher for 3 to 6 months at least 4 hours a day.
The result was successful as each participant witnessed an average 14-degree angle decreased from a 34 to 20-degree angle without experiencing any discomfort.
Similarly, Paolo Gontero’s study on “Use Of Penile Extender Device In The Treatment of Penile Curvature as a Result of Peyronie’s Disease” that can be found here and here discovered that patients experienced reductions in curvatures of 31 to 27-degree angle during the 6 months they used the penis stretcher.
These reductions were still evident when participants were examined 12 months later.
Key Highlights On The Clinical Study
- Men who took part in the clinical study wore the extender device for an average of 5 hours during the first month, 5 hours during the third month, and 4 hours on the 6th month.
- The average flaccid penis length of the subjects was 7.15cm or 2.82 inches at baseline. In the 12th month, an increased by 32 percent to 9.45cm, or 3.72 inches were achieved.
- The average stretched penis length was 9.62cm or 3.79 inches at baseline. In the 12th month, an increased by 18 percent to 11.32cm, or 4.45 inches were achieved.
- There was no significant increase in girth reported, which averaged 10.4cm, or 4.09 inches.
- The average erectile function scores increased by up to 36 percent. Originally, the average score was 19.9 out of 30 at baseline and increased to 27.1 out of 30 in the 12th month.
4 Patients Discontinued The Treatment For 4 Different Reasons
- Pain and penile bruising
- Satisfactory results after three months
- Lack of efficacy and inability to follow the protocol
- One subject was lost to follow up
How Traction Penis Extender Device Works?
Essentially, penis extenders such as the medically-certified SizeGenetics have a built-traction technique similar to the one used by orthopedic surgery.
When applying traction to the penis’ corpora cavernosa, it causes the cells the break apart from the wall and produces different independent cells.
When this replication of cells is processed continuously, it creates or produced an increase in penile length.
Based on the clinical tests mentioned, this traction technique of stretching the penis is effective.
However, it is a slow process and requires wearing the device for a few hours daily consistently for a span of months.
The process can be uncomfortable if the penis extender is not well designed.
Fortunately, penile extenders incorporate a comfort system designed to be comfortable even when worn for the entire day.
Investing On High-Quality Penis Extenders
Although the means of correcting penile curvature or Peyronie’s Disease through traction using an extender is a slow process, it is much safer than opting for surgery.
With that in mind, experts highly recommend investing in a high-quality and medically-certified penile extender.
Moreover, men who do not have curvature in their penis can benefit using extenders as it helps to increase penis length, which is great news for men who want to get a bigger and longer penis size.
Hence, hydro penis pumps that are water-assisted can be a great option for correcting curved penises.
