More Sex Can Lead To Better Productivity and Career

When it comes to boosting one’s career, many invest in additional training. However, a new study from the Oregon State University states that having an active sex life at home may lead to more satisfaction and engagement at work.

This study is published in the Journal of Management1. Researchers recruited 159 married employees for this study. Each day for a period of 2 weeks, researchers asked the participants to complete a survey about their mood and sex habits at home.

Why More Sex Boosts Career?

Sex has many health benefits including memory boost, makes women smarter and among many others. But how can having more sex helps in boosting one’s career?

The researchers say that after analyzing the participants’ survey responses, individuals who had sex with their partners have better moods the next day. Of course, a boost in mood is linked to better productivity.

Anyone who is in good mood are likely to enjoy and immerse themselves on their work. Keith Leavitt, Oregon State University Associate professor says;

We make jokes about people having a ‘spring in their step,’ but it turns out this is actually a real thing and we should pay attention to it.

On the other hand, there is a flip side of it. Not all people are able to bring along their good moods at work. There are individuals who instead of bringing good moods, they bring with them stress from home. Stress has a major impact on a person’s sex life regardless of gender.

And, this cycle goes in an never-ending cycle if stress is not addressed.

Final Thoughts

This idea of having an amazing intimate encounter at night can make a person’s day better is not surprising. Sex is a natural dopamine and oxytocin booster.

The notion that getting lucky at night can lead to a better tomorrow isn’t terribly surprising, because we know sex is a great mood booster (thanks, dopamine!). But more research is needed on how your time between the sheets affects your time behind your desk.

However, researchers suggest that more studies are needed in order to fully established the connection between sex and a boost in productivity.

The author of the study is optimistic about the new findings. In fact, it is promising how this positive impact on productivity links on how people value a healthy sex life.

Of course, many couples or individuals may not have time to have sex every day. However, one study says that having sex twice a week is a key to happiness. Furthermore, it’s not just having sex can boost mood and happiness but a simple hug, as well.

For busy couples especially those with kids already, having an intimate moment with a partner can be difficult. If this is your case, you may consider scheduling an intimate moment with your partner.
