Why A Bad Mood Boosts Productivity?

In this study, researchers found that people in a bad mood have a better executive function. Improvements include the ability to focus more, better time management and increase efficiency in prioritizing tasks.

Moreover, in this study also, it is not about the benefit of a bad mood as researchers found it has a negative effect, as well. And, why a bad mood can boosts productivity?

Being in a negative mood promotes an analytical thinking, which is helpful for problem-solving. As a matter of fact, some people just like someone in the video below says feeling angry promotes better concentration.

Lead author of the study says;

Our results show that there are some people for whom a bad mood may actually hone the kind of thinking skills that are important for everyday life.

Part of Life

Having and feeling a bad mood from time-to-time is a normal part of life. It simply means we are humans and we have feelings and compassion. In fact, stress is not a bad thing after all as long as it is kept at minimal.

It becomes unhealthy, though once it turns into chronic bad moods or stress. When you feel bad because you have something to finish, it’s not really bad as long as you use it positively.

Instead of feeling bad and doing nothing, doing what needs to be done in order to finish the work is a good thing. This simply using the bad mood as a signal and tool to keep yourself going and get the job done on time.

The majority, this is not apparent. But what’s apparent is the bad mood and feeling, which they use in a negative way to further fuel the stress. Perhaps, the positive benefit of bad moods can sometimes outweigh the good. This is especially true for people who are not paying attention to their moods and feelings.

With this in mind, it would be a lot better to be in good mood most of the time. Hence, do regular exercise and eat mood-boosting foods that also boosts your energy level at work. This combination allows you to focus and achieve more at work.

Of course, do the usual stuff that can boost your brain’s production of happy chemicals such as serotonin, dopamine, and oxytocin.
